Faulty Towers The Dining Experience

Interactive Theatre International presents:

Faulty Towers The Dining Experience

– This globetrotting show is truly quite legendary, selling out in places like Edinburgh Fringe and Sydney Opera House. In this, its 20th birthday year, it returns to Coconut Grove Restaurant & Bar, but be warned: it will sell out here too, so early booking is essential.

Basil, Sybil, and Manuel serve a 3-course meal along with plenty of laughs and audience participation in this 5-star immersive show – a show that’s never the same twice because it’s 70% improvised. It’s great for comedy fans, theatre fans, or anyone who just fancies going out for an unforgettable meal and a good time. This true blend of ingenious comedy and a unique theatrical script is a multi-sensory treat where chaos reigns right from the start.

Highlights of 2017 include a string of return visits to Fringe Festivals in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Brighton and Edinburgh, and tours in Europe, Scandinavia, Asia, Australia and the Caribbean. With an ongoing residency, too, in the heart of London’s theatreland, it’s clear that Faulty Towers The Dining Experience is the most successful interactive comedy show of its kind.

Ten teams of the cast now tour the world virtually non-stop. The cast for The Hill in December features Donna Gray (Sybil), Jack Baldwin (Basil) and Terence Frisch (Manuel).

When the audience become diners in the ‘Faulty Towers’ restaurant and are served by Basil, Sybil and Manuel, pretty much anything can happen – especially with two-thirds of the show improvised. The fun starts as guests wait to be seated, then hurtles along in a tour de force of gags, shambolic service and a ‘70s-style 3-course meal. ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA CELEBRATE PRINCE HARRY VISIT WITH SPECIAL ‘THE PRINCE’S GINGER’ COCKTAIL

The commemorative The Prince’s Ginger cocktail

November 18, 2016 – Antigua and Barbuda is celebrating His Royal Highness Prince Harry’s visit to Antigua and Barbuda by creating a specialty cocktail, ‘The Prince’s Ginger’, made with the twin-island nation’s world famous, award-winning English Harbour rum and featuring fresh locally sourced ingredients.

The cocktail follows in a historic royal tradition as it is inspired by a special liqueur created for King Edward VII in 1903 called “The King’s Ginger’.  This drink was commissioned by the Royal Physician to stimulate and revivify His Majesty during his morning rides in his carriage.

Prince Harry will be visiting Antigua and Barbuda as part of his Caribbean tour on behalf of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, in recognition of Antigua and Barbuda’s 35th Anniversary of Independence and the continued close ties between the UK and the Commonwealth. Prince Harry’s first stop will be in Antigua and Barbuda where he will participate in a variety of activities from November 20 – 22nd.

The aptly named ginger cocktail was invented by Timmy Thomas, a bartender at Coconut Grove – a popular beach bar-restaurant for locals and visitors alike. Timmy is not only one of the greatest bartenders on the island, with over 19 years of experience, but he was recently recognized for his talents by Angostura, where he was named the Brand Ambassador for the company.  Timmy’s specialty is using the twin-island nation’s fresh local produce and ingredients to create unique, refreshing and delicious cocktails.

The Prince’s Ginger cocktail is exclusively available at Coconut Grove, an establishment that represents the best of what Antigua and Barbuda has to offer, nestled amongst palm trees and lush tropical vegetation, facing a sweep of white sand and turquoise ocean. The atmosphere is the perfect combination of tranquility and vibrancy, fun and romance. For those who might not be able to visit Antigua and Barbuda, but would still like to try The Prince’s Ginger, the recipe is as follows:

Ingredients:

1 1/2 oz – English Harbour 5 year Rum

2 1/2 oz –  fresh “Antigua Black” pineapple juice

1/2 oz – fresh lemon juice

2-4 – local ginger slices

4 – freshly picked lemon grass sprigs

1/2 oz – sugar syrup

3-4 dashes of Angostura bitters

Method:

–         Muddle ginger slices and lemon grass springs in a mixing glass.

–         Add all remaining ingredients to muddled mixture.

–         Add ice then shake vigorously.

–         Double strain into a high ball glass.

–         Fill with ice.

Garnish with lemongrass and “Antigua Black” pineapple peel.
